YouthSpace@BCS

Family Services

We reach out and connect with youths in our community through street outreach and collaboration with neighbouring schools and other Social Service Organisations. With the support of our volunteers, we aim to provide a safe space where youths feel belonged and realise their true potential through forming healthy friendships, skills and values.

Our YouthSpace values are:

Safety – We protect one another.
Purpose – We are all important.
Acceptance – We are all unique.
Compassion – We care for one another and our community.
Empowerment – We all have the power to change.

With the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, our youth workers continue to connect with the youths via multiple platforms such as Instagram, TikTok and Discord. Youths are free to book the use of our drop-in centre on a daily basis so that we can continue to meet them face-to-face and make sure they are coping well. Monthly cycling trips are also organised to stay in touch with them and encourage youths to build up their resilience.

Find us on Instagram , Discord or TikTok to find out about our latest activities, workshops or the next run of Breaking Space! DM @youthspaceonline for more information.

  • Planning and organising these cycling outings for the youths have always been a joy to me. I enjoy spending time with the youths, hearing their stories and guiding them in their lives. What gives meaning to volunteering experience is being able to share my life with them and giving them a place for them to be heard.

Don | Singapore Youth for Christ (SYFC) | Cycling Volunteer
  • In Breaking Space, we engage youths through teaching breaking moves and more importantly, we taught them values and created a safe space for them to learn. My biggest takeaway from this journey is having fun while feeling like I?m giving back. I enjoyed my time interacting and learning about different youths.

Justin | Elevate the Streets (ETS) Breaking Space Mentor, Street Dancer
  • Throughout the six months, it was nice seeing my mentee open up about troubles in his school life and personal life to me. I gave a listening ear and got to share my perspective on how I would have dealt with the issues.
