Job Description
- Serve as the project lead forย cross-sector volunteer and outreach initiatives, working with key stakeholders includingย BBTC, grassroots organisations, community service agencies, schools, corporates, and other partners, to connect organisational programmes with community beneficiaries. This includesย facilitatingย collaborative service-learning projects and enabling effective two-way integration between community partners and service providers.
- Review, implement, and continuously improve volunteer management policies, SOPs, and processes in alignment withย NCSS Volunteer Management Capability Framework, sector best practices, and relevant regulatory and safeguarding requirements.
- Identify, develop, and diversify volunteer sources through active recruitment and mobilisation strategies to support BCS programmes and services.
- Oversee theย full volunteer management life cycle, including recruitment, screening and interviews, matching, orientation, deployment, supervision, review and feedback, training, appreciation, retention, and exit processes.
- Implement andย monitorย volunteer risk management and safeguarding measures, working closely with programme teams to ensure volunteer suitability, role clarity, and safe engagement with beneficiaries.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with approved volunteer policies, SOPs, and documentation requirements across all programmes.
- Build andย maintainย effective working relationships withย grassroots organisations, community partners, statutory boards, and sector stakeholdersto support volunteer engagement and programme delivery.
- Network with volunteer management practitioners and sector partners to keep abreast of emerging trends, best practices, and opportunities for collaboration.
- Explore, evaluate, and support the implementation ofย Volunteer Management Systems (VMS) and digital tools to enhance operational efficiency, data accuracy, and reporting.
- Maintain, analyse, and regularly update the volunteer database to support operational needs, reporting, and strategic planning.
- Design, coordinate, and support volunteer engagement programmes and community activities, ensuringย meaningful, inclusive, and well-managed interactions between volunteers and beneficiaries.
Requirements
- Degree with a minimum ofย 2 years of relevant experience in the social service sector or equivalent experience in volunteer management preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to volunteerism and community engagement, with the ability to work effectively withย diverse volunteers, partners, and beneficiary groups.
- Strong communication, writing, coordination, administrative reporting, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated capabilities inย planning, problem-solving, stakeholder coordination, and time management, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently.

Our seniors had a fun afternoon getting their hands into some dough!
With Valerie guiding the way, everyone got to make vegetable buns and lava custard buns from scratch. There was plenty of kneading, filling, shaping and, of course, tasting along the way!
It was lovely seeing everyone pick up something new, have a good laugh and enjoy the afternoon together.
